Daily Dawn - PESHAWAR, March 20: Member of the National Assembly from Chitral Shehzada Mohiyuddin has claimed that the government has written-off micro finance loans of the people of the district.
He said that the government had also extended grant under the special risk allowance to the police personnel in the district. Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday, he said that the package of the special risk allowance for police personnel was earlier extended to five districts of the Malakand Division excluding Chitral.
However, he said, he was thankful to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti for inclusion of the police personnel of Chitral district in the package.
The MNA said that under the special risk allowance package the superintendent of police would receive Rs6,000 per month, DSP Rs5,500, inspector Rs5,000, sub-inspector Rs4,500, assistant sub-inspector Rs4,000, head constable Rs3,500 and constable Rs3,000, along with their monthly salaries.
He said Chitral was peaceful area and even during the worst wave of terrorism, militancy and suicide bomb explosions, the area remained completely peaceful. Expressing his satisfaction over the construction of Lowari Tunnel, the MNA Mohiyuddin said that the project would help ensure an all-weather connection of the Chitral district with rest of the country.
He said that though construction work on main hole of the tunnel was still in progress and would be completed in two three years, it had been opened for passage of the people two hour daily.The project, he said had brought revolution in the lives of Chitralis and expressed gratitude to late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, former president Pervez Musharraf, present government, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti and Federal Minister for Communication Dr Arbab Mohammad Alamgir Khalil for taking interest in providing passage to the people of Chitral through the tunnel.
