ISLAMABAD (APP): Interior Minister Rehman Malik Thursday assured Senate of equal compensation to victims of terrorist activities. Replying to points of order by FATA member and Saleem Saifullah, Malik said, “there should be no discrimination in payment of compensation to terrorism victims.” He also assured the House to brief on FATA operation whenever the members desire. “I had offered earlier to give a briefing and now again I say, I am ready to brief the members when they desire.” Malik said, he himself wants to address the confusions and disinformation about the operation started to curb terrorists and their activities.
Earlier, Advisor to the Prime Minister Raza Rabbani assured the FATA members to take up the issue of their rights with the President and the Prime Minister.
“Today, I shall talk to the President and the Prime Minister to get announced an additional package for FATA,” he stated.
Some of the FATA members as well as Saleem Saifullah had raised the issues of payment of compensation as well as ignoring a status for FATA when renaming the NWFP.
The House also offered condolences for Dr Israr who passed away Wednesday and paid him homage.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri led the condolences as the House offered Fateha for eternal peace of the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family.
