Chitral bypass road


Peshawar—Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare Salim Khan on Thursday said that Provincial Government had released a sum of Rs 120 million to compensate those whose land came under Chitral Bypass project in a view to start construction work on the said project. In a statement issued here, he said that acquiring land for Chitral Bypass road was a long awaited deal for the project and the credit especially goes to CM Ameer Haider Khan Hoti for taking personal interest in the matter. He said with the start of the work on this project people of the area will take a sigh of relief as their long awaited demand would be fulfilled. The Minister said people of the area are thankful to Chief Minister Ameer Haidar khan Hoti who took keen interest in the execution of this project. He also directed the concerned district officials to quickly make arrangement for disabusing amount to land owners so as practical work on this project of high importance is started. Meanwhile, The Local Government and Department of Rural Development has decided in principle to extend Community Infrastructure Project-II for two months in order to finish off the incomplete work. The Community Infrastructure Project CIP-II project started off in 2003 for six years term for which Rs.3 billion loan was provided by World Bank.—APP
