Flash flood ruins GHS Booni Bridge

CHITRAL, Aug 11 (APP): As series of flash flood still continue and causing for heavy damages, the flash flood partially damaged Government High School Booni and ruined completely bridge on the river for Girls Degree College Booni as a result no students turned up to the school and girl college. Similarly main Peshawar-Chitral road and Chitral-Gilgit-Baltistan road are still blocked for all type of vehicles for the last 4 days and the people expressed dissatisfaction over the work continue to restore bridge line and roads connection one place to other. The work is very slow for maintenance over the road and restoring the traffic.

Supply of electricity and water have also disconnected after damaging poles of main transmission line and pipelines for water supply schemes. To have drinking water facilities to people are bringing drinking water from far flung streams in the valley.

Due to flood, the prices of edible things jump to all time high which further added to the miseries of people already traumatized due to swollen rivers. One Unit (generator) of local hydro power house is also out of order and consumers of local power house also facing continuous load shedding.

Educational institutions were also closed due to non-availability of drinking water and besiege people of different valleys still waiting for relief, food stuff and other daily use items as scarcity of these things prevail in the district.

The people were stuck to the houses and those lost their houses were waiting for the relief under the sky with nothing left in their hands but to wait for the relief providing by army helicopters in different areas.
