Former Member National Assembly and Jamati Islami leader Maulana Abdul Akbar demanded probe into the utilization of development funds issued during the year 2008 to 2012.
Addressing a press conference at Chitral press club he urged provincial chief minister Parez Khattak and senior Minister Sirajul Haq for forming an inquiry team to ascertain what he called “embezzlement” in development related work. He alleged that 270 million were released for Booni Shagram road, 290 million for Booni Shandor road, 130 million for Khot Torko road has been released and it has been shown spent on these projects only in paper but there is nothing on the ground. He said that work on Booni Truck able bridge was suspended only one week after the inauguration. He said that a huge amount from government exchequer was misappropriated at PK 89 ad PK 90. He said that inquiry must be conducted about assets of both MPAs of these constituencies. He said that malpractices exercising in contract of wheat supply. He also demanded for reinstatement of 102 border police who were sacked a few months back and million of bribes were get from newly recruited border police he alleged.
Meanwhile leaders of Pakistan Muslim League in a press conference demanded for construction of hydro power stations at Chitral to eliminate load shedding. Former MPA Saeed Ahmad, Fazal Rahim advocate and other said that Chitral facing longest load shedding despite that Chitral having the capacity of 15000 megawatt power generation. They said that hand cart, mobile and cash payment were distributed among the voters during the present election at PK 90 as a result candidate of PML-N failed. Responding to a question they said that work on Lwari tunnel would not be role backed and work on this mega project will continue during PML-N regime. Source - Pamir Times
