PPP government issued 70,000 arm licenses sans record: NA told

ISLAMABAD: The #government of #Pakistan Peoples Party had issued 70,000 licenses of prohibited and non-prohibited arm licenses having no record during its tenure of five years, said Minister for Interior #Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday.

Answering the question of Dr Nafisa Shah, he said the government has imposed a complete ban on the issuance of new arms licenses.

There is no record of the licensee's Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) and other relevant record.

He said the policy of issuing licenses is being reviewed and made transparent. National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) would issue computerized licenses to the genuine licensees after proper verification. APP
