گاڑیوں کو زیادہ کرایہ وصول کرتے ہوئے پکڑ لی اور جرمانے کی مد میں قانون کی خلاف
ورزی کرنے والوں سے 13500 روپے جرمانہ حاصل کیا۔۔۔
March 24, 2014 - Chitral police on Sunday launched a crack down againsttransporters on over charging from passengers. On the direction of District Police Officer Ghulam Hussain, Chitral traffic police took action against transporters who were overcharging from passengers coming to Chitral.
According to Chitral police they booked some 40 vehicles and collected Rs 13500 as fine fromtransporters on over charging. DPO Chitral had received complaints from passengers thattransporters were charging extra fare from passengers coming from Islamabad, Peshawar, Temergara and Dir to Chitral.
On his direction police blockaded the road near PIA office before Chitral bus stand. They asked from passengers about fare they paid to transporters and fined transporters (drivers) on overcharging from passengers.
It is worth to mention here that main road of Chitral has been blocked at Lawari pass due to heavysnowfall and passengers can travel for two days a week through awari tunnel.—INP
