Private sector launches free hospital in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: To provide free healthcare to deserving and poor patients, a hospital in the private sector with the name of Dar-ul-Falah, was formally inaugurated at Peoples’ Colony area of the City on Sunday.

KP Minister for Mineral Development Zia Ullah Afridi and DC Peshawar Zahir-ul-Islam, Chief Executive of the hospital Al-Haj Ashraf Khan, Abdul Jalil Jan, Maulana Abdur Rauf Jan, elders of the area, people from different walk of life, were also present.

Speaking on this occasion, Zia Ullah Afridi lauded the efforts of the Al-Haj Ashraf Khan who donated his two storey building consisting of 10 rooms for the hospital. He said it was unmatched step taken by Al-Haj Ashraf Khan of Peoples Colony. He said establishment of hospital in two storied building in the area would certainly help the needy and poor people as far as free treatment and provision of free medicines are concerned.

Zia Ullah Afridi said that the PTI government is giving top priority to the development of health sector. He said establishment of hospital in the private sector under the aegis of Dar-ul-Falah, would certainly bring good change.

He said the government is allocated Rs.1 billion to provide free services to the patients requiring urgent treatment as part of the PTI’s agenda of bringing about the change. “We have begun several reforms in health, education and other social sectors to trickle down benefits of government’s measures to the people at the grassroots level,” he said.

He said the government does not succeed unless and until extension of by the people like Al-Haj Ashraf Khan who donated his own property for the better cause. He said the people of the entire country were looking towards the PTI which was well on its way to achieving the objectives laid down in its manifesto. He appreciated those provided donations for holding free medical, eye camps. They wished that the hospital would provide free and quality treatment to the patients of areas like Kashkal, Bana Marri, Asami Gate, and People Colony. He also announced a sum of Rs. 50,000 for the hospital.

DC Peshawar Zahir-ul-Islam also lauded the step being taken by the welfare organization Dar-ul-Falah, working for the welfare of needy people since 1995, of holding free medial camp, eye camp, provision of free medicines. Dar-ul-Falah Welfare Organization, he said, is contributing more toward supporting needy and poor people. He said the day is far off when the local residents will see marked difference in the diagnostic and treatment services at the hospital.

At the end, both KP Minister Zia Ul Afridi and DC Peshawar Zahir-ul-Islam formally inaugurated the hospital building. The hospital would become operational after Eid-ul-Fitre.
