LAYYAH: Body of a young girl has been recovered hanging from a tree in a village in Punjab’s Layyah district. Locals said she was kidnapped two days ago, SAMAA reported Friday.
According to police, the incident took place in Nawan Kot area of tehsil Chobara of Layyah where area people found the body hanging with a rope on a tree this morning.
They informed the police who lifted down the body of 20-year-old girl kidnapped two days ago according to her parents.
An FIR of the girl’s kidnapping had already registered with local police station as law-enforcers started investigating motives behind the brutal murder.
Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and sought a report from DPO, directing him to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.
Meanwhile, initial autopsy report said the girl was sexually assaulted and later strangulated to death.
Police later claimed to have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder. - SAMAA
