PESHAWAR (APP): There is no significant chances of rain during the next one week and the weather maily will remain dry and cold in most parts of the country. This was stated by spokesperson of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) while talking to APP on Friday. PMD forecast cold dry weather across the country with foggy conditions in plain areas of Punjab during next few days. However, there are chances of light snowfall in Northern Areas besides the weather will remain cloudy in the upper parts of the country during next 24 hours. The wether will remain cold and dry in most parts of the NWFP during next few days. The cold wave condition will prevail in most parts of the country during next few days. The foggy conditions will continue to prevail in the plain areas of Punjab until good scattered rains occur in the province.The previous spell of isolated rains in most parts of Punjab has reduced the duration and intensity of fog in the plains of Punjab. The duration of fog in upper parts of Punjab was 16 to 18 hours and was recorded 18 to 20 hours in Southern Punjab. However, the recent isolated rains have reduced the duration from 8 to 10 and 10 to 12 hours in these areas respectively. Minimum temperature was recorded as Peshawar 3 degree centigrade, Abbottabad -1 degree centigrade, Chitral -3 degree centigrade, Bannu 4 degree centigrade, D.I. Khan 3 degree centigrade, Kohat 3 degree centigrade while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded -14 degree centigrade in Kalam. Frontier Post
