Online - Peshawar: NWFP Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan has disclosed that a Polytechnic College and Benazir University Public School will soon be established in Chitral as the Governor NWFP; Owais Ahmad Ghani has consented to the establishment of both these institutions which will provide facilities of standard and vocational education to the people of district chitral at their door-steps.
According to a hand out issued here, he disclosed, in a press statement issued here after a formal meeting with Governor NWFP Owais Ahmad Ghani in Peshawar, the other day. He has said that keeping in view the backwardness and peculiar geographic and demographic conditions of chitral, the need of such educational institution was being felt for a long time; and as such he made a request to the Governor for the establishment of such institutions in chitral which the Governor has honoured.
Saleem Khan told that he has also taken up the issue of fee remission of chitrali students studying in public sector universities and implementation of the announcement made by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani regarding waiving off the agri loans of chitral with the Governor; and the Governor has assured of directing the concerned authorities to complete the formalities in this regard very soon.
