The News - CHITRAL: The lone primary school in the remote Boroghul valley near Pakistan’s border with Tajikistan border could not be reopened due to non-availability of teaching staff. Talking to The News, executive district officer Ms Gulsambar said that all the government-run schools opened on March 1, but the primary school in Chikar area could not be reopened due to non-availability of teaching staff.
Gulsambar said as main road to the valley had been closed due to heavy snowfall and landslides, the teachers were reluctant to go to the area. “Some teachers had been hired from the nearby areas to fill the vacant posts but after completion of their tenure, they were relieved and now there is no staff in the school,” she said.
President Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Abdul Nasir has appealed to high-ups of the education department to fill the vacant posts of teachers in the school and other educational institutions to save the future of the students.
