PESHAWAR, (SANA): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan has disclosed that a number of developmental projects for district Chitral have been included in the provincial budget 2010-11, adding that on completion these projects will usher in a new era of development and prosperity in the area.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Drosh Chitral who called on him at his office, the other day. Enumerating the proposed projects for the district, he said that two separate water supply schemes for chitral town and Drosh Town have been approved in the budget with an estimated cost of Rs. 380 million and 320 million respectively.
The proposed Booni-Shandur and Booni-Buzund road have also been approved at a cost of Rs. 490 million and 320 million respectively, he added.
Mr. Saleem Khan told that establishment of a Food Processing Unit in Chitral had also been included in the budget which on its establishment would provide employment opportunities to the people of the area.
Regarding the power generation projects, the minister said that funds had been allocated for the feasibility report of Sheshi Zandoli Hydel Power Station of 144-Megawatt capacity and Shoghoor Hydel Power Station of 135- Megawatt capacity. Besides, establishment of one Cadet College, one higher secondary school, one high school, one middle school and two primary schools have been included in the budget, he continued.
Khan told that up-gradation of BHU Ayun to category-C hospital with an estimated cost of Rs. 100 million is also a part of the budget.
