Pakistan Observer - Dubai—Former President Pervez Musharraf says media enjoyed more freedom during his tenure than the present democratic government.
In an interview at his residence here on Sunday, he said the democratic government is passing resolution to curb the freedom of media. He said, those claiming themselves democratic are imposing restrictions on the freedom of expression through various tactics. However, he accepted the fact that “he had banned the media” due to particular circumstances for a specific period”.He said, he has decided to return to Pakistan soon and announce the formation of political Party “All Pakistan Muslim League” and practically take part in the politics due to the precarious political and economic situation of the country. “I will soon start media campaign to inform the nation about the objectives and targets of the Party”, the former President said. He said hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world including Pakistan persuaded me to take part in politics. Application for the registration of All Pakistan Muslim League has been sent to Election Commission.—NNI
