Scouts provide relief items in Dir, Chitral

Visa - The News - PESHAWAR: The Frontier Scouts, or Frontier Corps as it is commonly called, continued its relief activities in the flood-affected areas in collaboration with the local people, civil administration, donor agencies and Army troops in Dir and Chitral districts.



According to a press release, the ration distribution centres established by Frontier Scouts at Chakdarra, Sheringal, Shahi Kot and Kalkot were functioning and providing relief goods to flood-affected people in their respective areas.


Biscuit and wheat flour donated by WFP have been distributed in Dir Upper area while wheat flour from SSD was delivered in Dir Lower. Besides, food items, 700 foams mattresses donated by ICRC have been issued in Lower Dir area while miscellaneous items of hygienic need have been issued in Upper Dir area. Up to 7,360kg of ration items packed in 320 bags, 5,400kg ghee and 400kg of flour have been stored in Chitral for further distribution to inaccessible affected areas. Food items were provided to sub-tehsil Garam Chashma in Chitral through helicopters.
