CHITRAL (dardistantimes) :PPP (S) assembled a huge crowd in Chitral to highlight the issues faced by the region. The assemblage was led by the former provincial minister, Haji Bakhti Baider Khan. Addressing the public, the leaders of the party and workers lamented a number of local issues and the sluggish behaviour of the local administration.
The Drosh Police was harshly criticised for patronizing the influx of drug traffickers in the region. The elected representatives of the region were also under attack for not being able to resolve the problems.
Scores of demands were put forward through a unanimous resolution including early completionof loward tunnel, age relaxation for jobless chitralies, curb on load shedding, Golain Goal Hydro work resumption, waiving ADBP loans, andenforcing the blasphemy law etc.
The speakers questioned the discriminatory implementation of the age factor for employment. One of the speakers revealed provincial documents showing people of Malakand given one year age relaxation in employment eligibility.
The speakers flared up on the timber mafia forruthlessly cutting the wood and ruining the eco system. They demanded to penalize and punishsuch criminals in the region.
The speakers also touched upon the sensitive blasphemy law in Pakistan demanding a death sentence for those who talk about withdrawing the clause from the Constitution of Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention that Naushad Valiyani,a famous doctor in Haiderabad was arrested recently on the suspicion of Blasphemy for throwing a Business Card, of a walk-in sales man, into dustbin. The card contained the word “Muhammad”, a common prefix with the male names in Pakistan.
The Speakers included Abdul Wali Khan Advocate, district president of PPP-S, Irshad Mukarar president of Tehsil Drosh of PPP Sherpao, former provincial minister and central General Secretary of party,Haji Bakht Baidar Khan, Zahir Khan, Abdul Hameed Advocate etc.
