| Chitral—The All Primary Teaches Association (APTA) Chitral at a convention held at Government High School Booni thanked the provincial government for approving the time-scale formula for the promotion of primary schoolteachers.The convention was presided over by Mohammad Ashraf, the president APTA Chitral. All primary teachers and office-bearers of APTA expressed their views and appreciated Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti and education minister Sardar Hussain Babak. The speakers on the occasion demanded of the government to increase the in-charge allowance for the heads of primary schools to Rs500 per month. They also demanded construction of more classrooms and appointment of teachers in primary schools. They said only two teachers handled six classes in each primary school having two rooms. They said it was not only difficult for the teachers to control the six classes but also terrible for students who got education in jam-packed small rooms. The APTA also demanded early issuance of notification of the time-scale by the finance department so as to release fund for teachers promoted to the next scales. The teachers criticized the executive district officer primary and elementary education for his negative attitude towards teachers that caused poor results in secondary school certificate examination of 2012. They also demanded early maintenance of classrooms in primary schools which were in a very dilapidated condition. They expressed full confidence on the leadership of provincial president of APTA Malik Khalid Khan. President APTA Mohammad Ashraf asked the teachers to teach their students with great honesty and enthusiasm. He also thanked the provincial government for giving them time-scale promotion to 9 and 10 scale. He also thanked the provincial government for approving basic pay scale 12 for the primary schoolteachers. They will be promoted to BPS 14 after 15 years service and to scale 15 on 22 years or above service.
