Eight persons were killed and six others sustained injuries when a jeep plunged into a ravine near Mroi village on Saturday.
A police official said that the jeep was on its way to Chitral city from Yarkhun valley when the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a sharp turn near Mroi village and the vehicle plunged into the ravine.
Eight persons were killed on the spot while six others sustained injuries in the incident. The dead were identified as Akbar Ali, Faizul Amin, Zafaruddin, Babu Khan, Bais Khan, Faiz Gul, Zaman and Khan Gul.
The bodies were retrieved after hectic efforts and the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
