CHITRAL (INP): Hundreds of vehicles carrying passengers and tourists remained stranded as Lowari Tunnel was closed for traffic after snowfall in the area on Saturday.
According to details, Chitral was disconnected with rest of the country as Lowari Tunnel was closed for all kind of traffic.
The authorities were not allowing the vehicles to cross the tunnel as heavy snow has covered road in the entire area.
Dozens of vehicle with hundreds of passengers including women and children, tourists were stranded on both sides of the tunnel due to closure of the only road link connecting Chitral with other parts of country. The stranded people have to face severe hardships due to intense cold weather and accommodation facility.
