CHITRAL (Via The News): Elders of Mastuj tehsil Wednesday threatened to stage a protest march of work on the Booni-Mastuj road wasn’t resumed.
Speaking at a press conference here, the elders including former tehsil nazim Shahzada Sikandarul Mulk, Muhammad Wazir, Amirullah Yaftali and others criticised the government for abandoning the road project without any reason.
They said the government had allocated Rs490 million for widening and construction of the road in 2006 and the amount was later increased to Rs690 million. “The people have been suffering due to the poor condition of the road but those in positions of authority weren’t taking note of the situation,” Sikandarul Mulk said.
The elders said the people of Yarkhun and Laspur valleys would stage a march to Chitral city if the work on the road project was not resumed by November 22.
