via The News - Senior journalist Najam Sethi has taken oath as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab. The oath was administered by Governor Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood.
“Journalists will be my eyes and ears and keep me informed of problems in the province.”
The caretaker chief minister sent a message to the administration and bureaucrats in Punjab that incompetence and corruption would not be tolerated.
According to Sethi no relatives or friends of his would be allowed any undue advantage during his tenure, adding that action would be taken against individuals who use his name to seek favoritism.
“Maintaining law and order is a majority priority for me,” Sethi said. There will be zero tolerance for violence against minorities, the caretaker chief minister added.
Commenting on the formation of the caretaker provincial cabinet, Sethi said no political personality would be included.
