#Khyber #Pakhtunkhwa provincial tourism department has finalised an evaluation report regarding the assets and properties of #Pakistan #Tourism #Development Corporation (PTDC), and identified more than 19 sites, which are going to be handed over to province, as per decision of Ministry of Inter Provincial Co-ordination.
In this regard, the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had constituted a four members committee, to evaluate the actual assets and properties of PTDC in the province. Members of the committee had identified more than 19 sites, which was worth of billion of rupees lying assets of PTDC.
After the devolution under the 18 constitutional amendment, it was mandatory to handover PTDC assets to provinces. By following the constitutional amendment, the Tourist Services and Pakistan Austrian Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management had devolved to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the assets and properties of PTDC were not handed over to province, said Sajjad Hamid, General Manager Admin and Properties TCKP.
Recently, he said that the Ministry of Inter Provincial Co-ordination in its last 76th Board of Directors meeting held on July 01, in which it was formally decided to hand over assets and properties of PTDC to provinces, and given a task to evaluate an actual assets and properties report in this regard. The meeting declared that the assets and properties of PTDC stands transfer, to concerning provinces.
Hamid, who is also heading the assets evaluation committee, said that the TCKP had finalised more than 19 sites, including PTDC motel at Saidu Sharif, Swat, motel at Kalam Swat, motel at miandam, Swat, motel at Chail mankial, Swat, restaurant at Chakdara Malakand, motel at Panakot Dir, motel at Bunni Chitral, motel at Birmoglasht Chitral, motel at Mustuj Chitral, motel at Chattar Plain Manshera, motel at Besham Shangla, motel at Naran Manshera, motel at Ayubia Abbottabad, motel at Garam Chashma Chitral, and Motel at Barseem Kohistan. Besides, PTDC Toursim Information Centre TIC Peshawar, PTDC TIC Abbottabad, and Saidu Sharif PTDC model and TIC.
The official said that they had prepared a consolidated report on PTDC inventory and actual number of employees, which is going to be presented today meeting to Ministry of Inter-provincial Co-ordination in Islamabad. When asked about the actual worth of all 19 sites, official declined to give total amount of these assets and properties. Similarly, the official said they are lacking exact data of PTDC employees, despite conducting survey to these sites in the province.
He, however, said that the properties and assets would be in billions of rupees, which can be earned hefty of revenue in the coming days, after formally handing over to the province. The official said that the assets would be utilised for massive revenue generation by better management and policy. RECORDER REPORT
