Foreign Couple Robbed in Sindh After Cycling Through 10 Countries

Incident Sparks Concerns Over Safety of Tourists Visiting Historical Sites

A Polish-French couple, who cycled through 10 countries to reach Pakistan, was robbed near Sajawal bypass in Sindh's Thatta district. The muggers stole their mobile phones while the couple was visiting historical sites, including the Makli graveyard, which houses centuries-old tombs. The couple was reportedly guests of the provincial archaeology department during their visit.

Following the incident, the couple continued their journey to Hyderabad. Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice, directing the Sujawal SSP to ensure swift action and effective investigations using modern techniques. A case has been registered against three suspects involved in the robbery.

This is not the first such incident; in October, foreign tourists were similarly robbed by men in police uniforms in Karachi. Such incidents highlight ongoing concerns about lawlessness and the safety of visitors in Pakistan, potentially deterring future tourism.
