The News - CHITRAL: Battered by the incessant snowfall and cut from other parts of country, the people of Chitral came out on the streets and staged protest demonstration against hours-long electricity breakdown on Saturday evening.
The agitators – hundreds in number – staged protest and blocked the Chitral-Peshawar Shahrah near Shishi place, sources said.
Participants were chanting slogans against the concerned authorities of electricity management in the area, saying that the torrential snowfall had cut power supply from National Grid Station, meanwhile, the Shaido authorities have added fuel to fire, by shutting down Shishi Power House, sources told media.
People complained that hours-long electricity load shedding has disrupted routine life adversely.
The demonstration left the Chitral-Peshawar Shahrah blocked for several hours.
