The News - PESHAWAR: Former MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has expressed concern over the operation to get the land vacated from people in Seenlasht village in Chitral and urged the government to immediately stop the drive.
Addressing a news conference here Friday, Abdul Akbar Chitrali said the district administration under pressure from the powerful royal family of Chitral had misinterpreted the Supreme Court judgment in a land dispute.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said the people living in the area had been resisting the drive due to which several people were injured. He said 101 families were living in the village. The former lawmaker from Chitral said the administration had been playing a political game to deprive the village residents, living there for hundreds years.
