ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (APP): Government believes in supremacy of the Constitution, rule of law and sovereignty of the parliament. This was stated by Federal Minster for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan while talking to a delegation of lawyers of Booni Bar Association, District Chitral here on Wednesday.He said that democracy is a system of government in which everyone has the share and government is fully committed to strengthening democratic institutions for the welfare of the people and prosperity of the country.
The minister gave a grant of Rs 3 lac to Booni Bar Association.
The delegation was comprised of Siraj Alt Khan, President,Saifuddin Shah, General Secretary of Booni Bar Association District Chitral and other members.
Muhammad Masood Chishti, Federal Secretary Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs also attended the meeting.
He described the unanimous passage of the 18th Amendment as a historic step which would make Pakistan a true participatory federation.
The minister further said that the amendment has closed the doors for dictatorship forever and now nobody would be allowed to derail the democratic process.
He stressed that PPP is the symbol of federation and has rendered innumerable sacrifices for its strengthening and stability.
The members of delegation shared their problems with the minister.
The minister said that government was aware of the difficulties of lawyers and assured that their problems would be resolved soon.
He further explained that government was providing assistance to district and tehsil level bars irrespective of their political affiliation and without any discrimination.
The delegation appreciated the commitment and efforts of law ministry for the welfare of lawyers and said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan Law Minister Baber Awan has visited deferent Bar Associations across the country.
